We know it’s important to take time for you. Our time off benefits help you relax, recover from illness or injury, make a difference in your community, and pursue your passions away from work.
Vacation time for you
It all starts with vacation time to do what you love and maintain balance in your life.
• Exempt (salaried) employees participate in a Flexible Vacation program without any pre-defined limits on vacation amounts—your time is only limited by what it takes to meet performance expectations and business needs.
• Nonexempt (overtime-eligible) employees receive a vacation allocation starting at three weeks per year, then increasing with service.
Holidays and holiday closure
HP observes 11 paid company holidays each year, and nonexempt (overtime-eligible) employees receive an additional two floating holidays per year.
HP traditionally observes an annual holiday closure in late December. Specific closure dates vary by year and are typically announced in the summer.
Sick time
Exempt (salaried) employees can take time away from work as needed for occasional illness, doctor’s appointments, or procedures.
Nonexempt (overtime-eligible) employees earn a minimum of six paid sick days each year, with more time available depending on the state where you live.
Time away for new parents
To support HP families, we offer paid time off to provide new mothers and fathers with more time with their family—up to 12 weeks following the birth or adoption of a child, in addition to any available disability benefits or state-based paid family leave.
Disability benefits
HP provides Short-Term Disability coverage at no cost to you, to continue all or some of your pay for up to 26 weeks of disability. For disabilities that last longer, HP provides Long-Term Disability coverage replacing 50% of pay, and you can choose to purchase additional coverage to get up to 70% of pay.
Paid volunteer time
To encourage volunteerism and giving back, HP gives you four paid hours each month to volunteer your time for the causes you care about the most. You can participate in HP‑sponsored programs and events or volunteer on your own for any qualifying charitable, educational, or community organization.
